The iPhone 7’s larger sibling is one of the best smartphones ever made - proving that sometimes, bigger is indeed better. Find out why we love it so much:
The iPhone 7 Plus features the best camera ever seen on an Apple handset - or rather, the best cameraS. It was the first iPhone to boast a dual-camera setup, with one wide-angle lens and one telephoto lens.
So what does this mean? Being able to switch between the different lenses gives you a much more powerful zoom (known as optical zoom.) Optical zoom is superior to digital zoom since it allows you to really get closer to your subject without losing picture quality. No graininess or blurriness here!
One of the biggest announcements that were made when the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were released was about the headphone jack. Or lack thereof… Instead, Apple decided that it was time for headphones to go wireless.
Apple’s AirPods are a fantastic improvement on the old, wired headphones. (Although these are still available and compatible with the iPhone 7 Plus, using an adapter to plug into the Lightning Port.) They’re pressure-sensitive, which comes in really handy when you need to activate Siri: simply give one of your AirPods a little tap, and the voice assistant will wake up.
The headphones also work as a mic, and are smart enough to feel when you take them out - and they’ll automatically pause your audio when you do so, ensuring that you don’t miss the best part of that guitar riff.
As usual, the larger of the two iPhones has the best battery. But just how good is it? Apple promise a full hour extra - and if this doesn’t sound too impressive, think again!
The iPhone 7 Plus is now able to last a full day on a single charge, which will come as a relief to those who always find themselves desperately scrambling for a charger around midday.
