Compare Pulse Deals

T-Mobile’s Android-fuelled Pulse is a state-of-the-art 3G phone with HSDPA for fast internet browsing, backed up by GPRS/EDGE where 3G is unavailable. It is Wi-fi enabled for hotspot, on-the-move surfing and – as a subscription service, GPS satnav.

At 135 x 63 x 136mm and 130g, the Pulse is not discreet – around the same size as an iPhone – it has a majestic 3.5-inch touchscreen at 480 x 320 pixels resolution – excellent for viewing media-rich content such as Web pages and the on-screen QWERTY keypad. An accelerometer means the screen turns into wide format as you swivel the Pulse in your hands.

The camera is 3.2 megapixels but lacks flash, plus a front camera for two-way video calling.A 2GB microSD card is provided with the Pulse, but supports cards to 16GB.

All sorts of goodies are available to purchase at the Android Market, installed on the device, including Facebook and Twitter which are not standard items on the Pulse. There are Wildcard Widgets for calendar, email, music, pictures and video. Battery life is rated t four hours’ talk time and 300 hours on standby from a full charge.

The Pulse matches the HTC Hero almost blow for blow, for a lot less money.
