Compare MDA Compact IV Deals

T-Mobile’s MDA Compact IV is the company’s version of the HTC Diamond, but larger and with curved edges. The specification is almost identical, including a GPS receiver, Wi-fi and a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera and secondary camera for video calling.

Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, the Compact IV packs a 2.8-inch VGA display and is extremely thin (12mm). It has a built-in accelerometer, which allows screen auto rotation, and 4Gbytes of internal storage memory, though no memory card slot.  There is an FM radio with RDS and a proprietary HTC mini-USB port, along with Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR for short-range wireless data transfer.

Messaging options are comprehensive: SMS, MMS, email and Instant Messaging and there is a host of organiser functions including Pocket Office, .pdf viewer, voice memo and music player.

At 110 x 52 x 12 mm and weighing 98g, the Compact IV lives up to its moniker. It is a tri-band phone with 3G HSDPA for fast internet connectivity, potentially rivalling broadband speeds. Viewing is made easy on the 2.8-inch, high resolution (480 x 640 pixels) screen.

Battery life is rated at up to 5.5 hours’ talk time and 285 hours on standby from a full charge.
