The Jalou is Sony Ericssn’s Dolce & Gabbana edition phone – one apparently with fashion sensibilities. It is very small flip phone - 73mm long (which Sony Ericsson points out is probably shorter than your favourite lipstick) that is facet cut in one of three exotic colours: 'Deep Amethyst', 'Aquamarine Blue' and 'Onyx Black'.

Frivolity aside, the Jalou is a 3G-enabled flip phone with an average assortment of features, including a 3.2 megapixel camera with geo-tagging (but no autofocus).

It also offers an FM radio. The full dimensions are 73 x 45 x 18mm so will fit within most fashionista accessories without causing an unsightly bulge.

It records video and has a media player supporting all the popular file formats such as MP3. Web interaction is the fastest available with HSDPA/3G, supported by GPRS /EDGE where 3G is inaccessible. For short-range wireless data transfer, there is Bluetooth. And for some bizarre reason, it can synchronize with an Exchange ActiveSync account - a surprisingly business-like feature for this fashionable little device.
