Compare F305 White Deals
The Sony Ericsson F305 is a budget slider phone in striking white with a specific trick for gamesters: motion-controlled games. In Nintendo Wii-style, you play the games by waving the handset around, while the glossy white, plastic finish, gives it a cuter, more feminine look.
The screen has a low resolution of 220 x 176 pixels, but it is quite bright and easy to read. The slide-out keypad has a flat membrane rather than individual keys.
The game thing is pretty basic, truth be told: unlike the Wii controller, the handset does not have a built-in accelerometer. Instead, it uses the camera to detect motion. There are 11 games pre-loaded on the phone, but only three have motion controls: a horse-racing game, a bowling game and a fishing game.
The music player supports all the major formats and has a five-band equaliser and a stereo-widening effect. There is no supplied USB, so Bluetooth short-range wireless is the only way to transfer tracks to the F305 without buying your own. The camera is only 2-megapixel without flash or autofocus. It is what it says on the tin: a budget phone with excellent call quality, but game idea is a bit of a gimmick.
Battery life is rated at eight hours’ talk time and around 60 hours before it needs recharging.
