Compare Tocco Ultra Red Deals
In the Tocco Ultra in gorgeous red, Samsung has designed a slide phone with a full touchscreen-driven interface. The Ultra is Samsung’s flagship handset for 2009 offering an 8 megapixel camera, class-leading OLED display, media player, GPS, Bluetooth, memory card slot and high-speed internet. It is also notably thin at 12.7 mm.
The 2.8-inch high-resolution AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen combines touchscreen technology with haptic (vibration) feedback, above a numeric keypad. You can, for example, drag photos and music around the screen with your finger, but without having to use a virtual keyboard for all tasks.
The camera is equipped with smile-detection autofocus, video camera, a powerful LED flash and geo-tagging thanks to the built-in GPS receiver. The Ultra comes with a media player that supports all popular music formats and can play videos in DivX & XviD formats, plus an FM radio with RDS. It is a pity that there is no 3.5mm audio jack, forcing you to use the standard stereo headset supplied by Samsung or you can use a wireless Bluetooth stereo headset.
This is a quad-band phone, for potentially global roaming, while Web connectivity is via high-speed HSDPA and GPRS/EDGE, supported by short-range wireless Bluetooth and USB. Messaging options are SMS, MMS and email. There is a host of personal organiser functions, such as document viewer, voice memo and speakerphone.
