Compare Omnia2 I8000 Deals

The Samung Omnia II i8000 is “son of Omnia” with several upgraded features. It offers a next-generation AMOLED high-resolution display, a more deeply integrated custom interface and a plethora of widget choices for customising the home screen.

AMOLED is an important addition: it illuminates active pixels individually, so that anywhere you see black, the pixel is "shut off", so allowing for a true black “colour” to come through. This not only saves on battery, but also produces “deep” blacks and very vivid colours. The Omnia II does have a standard backlight in addition to the individual pixel lighting, which helps save battery life.

With 256 Mbytes’ internal memory and 8GB storage memory plus an expansion slot. The screen is a 3.7-inch WVGA, high resolution (480 x 800 pixels) affair. A quad-band phone, it delivers fast internet through HSDPA and HSUPA, Wifi, Bluetooth and USB connectivity options. There is A-GPS, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer (which works in the Web browser, photo gallery and video player), plus FM radio. For audio, there is a standard 3.5mm headphone jack (hurrah!), and for syncing and charging, the Omnia II uses microUSB.

The camera is 5 megapixels with autofocus, LED flash, geotagging, face detection, smile shot, image stabilizer and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR). The usual office features abound, plus music and radio with RDS.

The Omnia II is undoubtedly one the best value touchscreen smartphones on the market.
