The Samsung Galaxy Note is something of a one of a kind on the mobile market at the moment, because it attempts to combine the best of big-screen tablet functionality with the ability to make mobile calls and send texts.

In the first two months during which the Galaxy Note was on sale, it shipped one million units worldwide, which is a real success given that it falls into an unusual category from the point of view of its physical size.

Taking up most of the front of the Galaxy Note is a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display which gives you access to the Android 2.3 operating system customised with Samsung's own TouchWiz user interface.

The stylus also has obvious artistic implications - if you want to get creative you will find few better places to do it than on the Galaxy Note.

Of course, as with any Android smart phone the Galaxy Note can also be used to browse the internet, download apps, play games, chat with friends, use social networks and much more, so it is more functional than many larger tablets.
