Compare E55 Black Deals

The Nokia E55 in dramatic black might well claim to be the smallest, lightest and (one of the) most powerful QWERTY smartphones available. Tri-band 3G, quad-band GSM, Wi-Fi, A-GPS plus magnetometer, Bluetooth and a great EDoF camera are packed into a surprisingly small package (116.5mm x 49mm x 9.9mm) weighing only 98 g.

There is a small QWERTY keyboard, numeric keypad and one-touch keys for home, calendar and messaging (the options are tremendous: SMS storage, multiple SMS deletion, list of numbers used recently, text-to-speech message reader, MMS version 1.2, cell broadcast, distribution lists for messaging and instant messaging via Windows (MSN) Live, Yahoo! IM, Presence Contacts on Ovi and OMA IM). Web browsing is fast via HTML, XHTML and browsing technologies.

The 3.2 megapixel camera has 4x digital zoom and an LED Flash, including a red-eye reduction mode. The music player supports all popular formats, along with an FM radio with RDS support, an equaliser, shuffle, stereo widening and album graphics display.  Nokia also includes a 3.5 mm standard headset jack.

There is every sort of personal organiser feature, from Active Notes to alarms and games (Block Cascade and Solitaire).

The N55 has 100 Mbytes’ internal memory, 256 Mbytes’ NAND flash, a 2GB memory card with support for up to 16 GB. Battery life is rated at eight hours’ talk time (GSM), six hours (3G) and around 500 hours on standby from a full charge.
