Compare 8800 Sapphire Deals

The Nokia 8800 Sapphire is a stylish slider phone – chunky at 150g but easy in the palm (109 x 45.6 x 65 mm) –  that offers an excellent range of features, notably a 3.2 megapixel camera with  8 x digital zoom and auto focus and tri-band GPRS, EDGE and 3G connectivity. And, of course, the 8800 Sapphire features a single sapphire as its centrepiece!

The keys are big enough for those of us with spatula fingers and give satisfying tactile feedback, helping to avoid mistakes in texting, for example. It has a host of additional functions, including Bluetooth 2.0 for short-range wireless data transfer, built-in handsfree, FM radio and conventional accessories such as flight mode and embedded games.

The 8800 is also fun: an unusual feature is the 8800’s accelerometer that allow you to tap-for-time (display the clock when the case is touched) and to turn the phone to mute when it is laid face down on a flat surface. Also, “living wallpaper” allows your wallpaper to come alive by adapting to time, battery power and signal strength. The handset also offers video ringtones (composed by famous DJ duo Kruder & Dorfmeister), so you can “view” as well as hear the ringtone of your choice.

Battery life is moderate: three hours’ talk time and 300 hours on standby.
