Although targeted primarily at the distaff side of the equation, the Nokia 7020 is a fashionable mainly metal flip phone that also comes in graphite for the fashion-concious man. The graphite colouring is visible around the display and over the entire keypad.

Flip it open to display the 2.2-inch screen (240 x 320 pixel resolution), which presents a “startdust” animation at each incoming call or message. Tap this primary display twice and it lights it up and shows you information, such as the time. There is a second, external - monochrome – screen, too, for basic call information.  

Modest in weight at 87g and 17.3 mm thick, the 7020 is unusual for Nokia, which produces few popular clamshells. This is a 2G phone with GPRS/EDGE for Web connectivity (with a WAP browser) and SMS, MMS and email with attachments as its messaging options.

Entertainment possibilities include a selection of pre-loaded games – it supports up to eight hours’ gaming time – a 2 megapixel camera with 4 x zoom and video recorder and an MP3 player and radio with RDS.

With 45 Mbytes’ internal memory, the 7020 also has a microSD memory card slot for up to 16 GB additional storage. Battery life is rated at up to 4.5 hours’ talk time, 550 hours on standby; 20 hours’ music playback, eight hours’ gaming, 7.5 hours’ video playback from a full charge.
