The Motorola W377 is an entry-level flip/clamshell phone that is small in the hand (99 x 45 x 18.6 mm ) and light at 95g. Outside is a mono icon display, indicating new message, plus call and battery status. Also on the front is the camera: VGA (0.3 megapixels) with 4 x zoom – good enough for informal snaps.
Messaging options are SMS, EMS and MMS, so you can share photos with others, for example, and there is an interesting “zoom font” option allowing you to view messages in larger font if required. Bluetooth short-range wireless or USB cable are available to transfer data to a laptop or other compatible device.
Although there is no music player, the W377 has an FM radio for entertainment. It is a tri-band phone, so has potential coverage across much of Europe as well as the UK.
Battery life is rated at up to 7.5 hours’ talk time and 250 hours on standby from a full charge. Altogether, an affordable, good-looking phone with potential as a first or spare device.
