The LG KF300 is a low-key chrome-edged flip phone providing mid-range features for both business and entertainment. Measuring 98.8 x 49.5 x 16.2 mm closed, it has a relatively large footprint, but uses the space to make life easier for the less nimble-fingered user. The number pad keys are big and broad, with number and letter labelling distinctly large.
Beneath the 2.2-inch screen under the clamshell hood is a row of buttons, marked with icons for hotkey shortcuts to specific functions: alarm clock, calendar, image gallery and “favourites” shortcut functions that you can create. There is a small LCD screen hidden away under the panel that lights up when set to work, displaying a clock, standby or call information.
A 2-megapixel camera with video but no flash or autofocus is basic but good for snapshots. Likewise, the MP3 player unremarkably but decent enough, likewise the FM radio. They come not with a 3.5mm jack but, instead, an adapter so you can use your own headphones after a fashion.
Web browsing is possible via GPRS, but painful. There is no zooming for full-screen mode, so the page has to come up before you then navigate around it. Pitiful internal memory at 14 Mbytes can be supplemented by a microSD card up to 2GB. Battery life is good – several days without needing a recharge.
