Compare KC910 Renoir Deals
The LG KC910 – known as the Renoir – is the first from LG to offer an 8 megapixel camera: it includes autofocus, face and smile detection, a Xenon flash and the ISO stretches from 100 to 1600. It has a 3-inch touchscreen to show off the results.
This is a 3G handset with HSDPA technology for fast internet browsing and a secondary front-facing camera for video calling, plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for “hotspot” connection and short-range data transfer respectively.
Measuring 107.8 x 55.9 x 13.95mm, the Renoir is the slimmest 8 megapixel phone on the market and weighs 110 g – light for a fully featured 3G handset. It has a special “multitasking key” that enables you switch between running applications: they pop up on screen in an icon-based menu; you tap the one you want. A second, tabbed screen gives you access to a grid of nine favourite shortcuts.
The main screen can be populated with “widgets”: tap a W on the idle screen and a menu bar appears along the bottom of the screen to and from which you drag items. Widget are both local and online: widgets on the phone at launch provide the time, a calendar, world clock, notes, shortcuts to the handset's radio and music control, important contacts and an online widget to deliver a weather forecast!
The messaging options are comprehensive, the music player is Dolby-based and the personal organiser-type functions are legion. It has 100 Mbytes’ internal memory and a slot for a micro SDHC card for a further 16 GB support. The Renoir may not be a masterpiece but is certainly a work of art.
