The Touch Diamond  from HTC is a second-generation Touch phone, in the same sphere of competence as Apple’s Iphone, but with its own personality. The HTC TouchFlo technology gets a 3D patina and internet is via HSDPA/3.5G where available and the Opera Mobile 9.5 browser. There is Wi-fi for hotspot and WLAN connectivity, plus Bluetooth for short-range wireless data transfer.
A 2.8-inch VGA resistive touchscreen is crisp and clear and can be operated with the included stylus (held secure by a magnet) as well as fingertips. The interface takes due account of lighting conditions, adjusting the backlight accordingly. It takes its name from the diamond-shaped faceting on the front and entire back of the black casing.

At 102 x 51 x 11.33 mm, the Diamond is remarkably light for its functionality, at only 110g and surprisingly small and slim. It runs Windows Mobile Pro and has 4Gbytes’ internal storage – but, sadly, no expansion slot for additional capacity. An on-screen QWERTY keyboard – 12 key or full 20 key configurations – makes light work of SMS, MMS and emails (with attachments).  A tri-band phone, it also has GPS navigation (subscription service) and  a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus.

The Touch Diamond is elegance made plastic, full of nice touches and attention to detail Battery life is rated at  5.5 hours for GSM, ( (4.5 for 3G ) or 300 hours on standby from a full charge.
