Compare OT-800 white Deals
The Alcatel OT-800 in stunning white, also known as the One Touch Tribe, is an entry-level monoblock handset with a slim, attractive profile yet it manages to pack in a full QWERTY keypad rather like the Blackberry Curve. Its range of colours, however, will surely appeal to a younger market.
Aimed at Web-aware social networkers and emailers, its big feature is a series of social networking and messaging shortcuts, which gets you to the sites and your content with less clicking and with easy navigation. Its Web access is via EDGE – it’s not quite in the 3G class after all – but EDGE is still good for the Tribe’s messaging role.
It is a tri-band phone of average (102g) weight and size (14 mm thick, for example) with a 2.2-inch screen at 240 x 220 pixel resolution. There is a 2 megapixel camera, a document viewer and a good range of organiser features, from 500 number capacity phonebook to vibration alert. Naturally, it has a music player supporting all the popular formats, plus an FM radio.
The OT-800 has, admittedly, a rather meagre 20 Mbytes’ internal memory but this can be augmented by a microSD card up to 4GB. Battery life is an excellent nine hours’ talk time and around 450 hours on standby.
