Compare OT-203 Deals
The Alcatel OT-203 announced in June 2009 is a monoblock entry-level or no-frills phone notable for being ultra-light at just 63g and available at a low price point. Everything about it is designed to be unfussy and minimalist, but without compromising on reliability and good design: it feels good in the palm and is very simple to use.
At 106.x 46 x 14.5 mm, it poses little threat to sartorial elegance. The CSTN colour screen has a basic 128 x 128 pixel resolution display; there is no camera, internet and only SMS messaging (texting) available. It makes calls, it texts – job done.
A dual-band phone, the OT-203 harks back to a simpler life when mobile phones were less computers in the pocket, but basic communications devices about which our expectations could easily be managed. It can store 255 numbers, 250 SMS messages and the basic information about 20 received, 20 outgoing and 20 lost calls. The feature list is short but useful: vibration alert, clock, alarm, calculator, calendar, two games, predictive text and an FM radio.
With very little to store, it needs very little internal memory and no card slot, so battery life is brilliant: seven hours’ talk time or 650 hours on standby from a full charge.
