As much as we enjoy salivating over the new iPhone (visitors to this blog are probably used to sidestepping the puddles of drool around here now), there comes a time in every technophile’s life where he or she has to look at their new gadget crush and ask themselves “Yeah, but can I actually afford this?”
Well in honesty, that depends on what you’re looking for and what your budget is. Apple’s newest baby doesn’t come cheap (much like real babies), and depending on whether you want the absolute tip-top model or whether you’re happy to simply own one will determine exactly how much money you spend.
The solution to finding a good iPhone 4S deal? Well, shopping around, of course – And not necessarily expecting to get the phone for free (especially if you’re after one of the more memory-packed models). In fact, the cheapest we found the 64GB model for in our provider pool was £29 – and that comes with 18 monthly payments of £67, meaning that you end up paying a rather incredible £1200 over a year and a half. It’s a generous contract, that much is true (1GB data, 3000 minutes and unlimited texts), but it’s not a cheap way of getting your hands on a new mobile.
At the opposite end of the scale, for those of us with a few extra pounds to splash on the handset initially, Vodafone are offering a rather attractive £26 a month deal with £59 of cashback – although you need to have a whopping £519 to drop in the first place.
If you’re not fussed about the extra storage however, the 16GB model is available for free on a few price plans, including a rather tasty looking deal from Vodafone including 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of data for £43.54 a month after cashback. If you have the cash however, drop about £240 for the phone itself and T-Mobile will give you a contract at £25 a month – that deal only offers 100 minutes a month however, which isn’t much for those of us who constantly have their phones strapped to their faces.
Of course, there are a multitude of different deals available to the smart consumer (including this great Sim only offer if you can afford to pick up the phone unlocked), your best bet is simply to check out out comparison pages, slice the deals how you want to, and get yourself the iPhone 4S deal that’s right for you.Tweet
