Yes, you read that right.
Turns out, if you’re an Android user, you’re of far looser morals than those ethical Apple users (who only yesterday demanded a more ethically built handset, don’t forget), according to research done by Match.com.
This is of course in direct opposition to a similar survey done in 2010, but as we’ve seen on the pages of this blog the smartphone market can flip around incredibly quickly, so that’s not exactly a huge surprise.
The survey asked a selection of single Canadian smatphone owners a number of questions with regards to dating, and the results are interesting.
62% of Android users said that they had slept with someone after a first date, whilst 57% of iPhone users said a similar thing, so there’s not really a huge difference really. Blackberry owners however are far better behaved, with only 48% of them saying they had done something similar.
What’s interesting is that of the Android users questioned, nearly three quarters said they had signed visited or used an online dating site – that’s quite a lot, especially when you consider that 50% of Blackberry users and 58% of iPhone owners have done the same thing.
55% of Android users have also had one night stads, which is the most of all the platforms questioned according to Match.com, although they have not released figures for the others as of yet.
