M&S Home Insurance
Marks & Spencer Home Insurance offers both buildings and contents cover.
There are two cover options to choose from: Premier or Standard.
Premier home insurance offers more extensive protection including any accidental damage, storm damage to gates and fences, visitors' belongings, and students' possessions when your children are at university.
If you want to keep down the cost of cover, you can choose the Standard policy.
This covers both your buildings and contents, but only includes the most basic types of accidental damage to your TV, video, audio and computer equipment.
M&S cardholders receive 1,000 bonus points for new policies.
New customers can also save 20 per cent by buying online, plus an additional discount if your home has an approved alarm system and a no claims discount (which you can protect) after your first claim free year.
Unlike some home insurance companies, you can spread the cost of your cover over 12 months with M&S and won't get charged any more for this.
Policy limits
M&S Home Insurance offers unlimited cover for buildings and contents (apart from money and liability limits) so you don't have to worry about putting a price on all your possessions - or have any concerns about being underinsured.
You just need to inform the insurer about any individual item worth more than £4,000.
Green benefits are included at no extra contents, and policies offer new for old cover on all replaced contents.
Optional extras
With M&S Home Insurance, you can chose from a range of optional extras.
These include home emergency cover, so you'll have extra protection against household emergencies, such as plumbing problems caused by leaking pipes or your boiler breaking down.
You can also add legal expenses cover worth up to £50,000.
