Direct Line Home Insurance
Direct Line has grown at an incredible rate from its initial role as purely a car insurance provider in 1985. It now has more than five million customers and a range of products including home insurance (also known as 'house insurance' or 'household insurance').
There are a number of special offers available with Direct Line home insurance. For example, you can enjoy 12 months cover for the price of nine when you take out a new policy and your monthly payments will still be spread across 12 months.
Its buildings insurance includes cover for burst pipes, accidental damage to windows and the cost of alternative accommodation if necessary following an insured event. Additionally, Direct Line has a number of contents insurance options such as providing cover on a new-for-old basis, protection for cash in your home up to £500 and items in the garden up to £1,000. Furthermore, it includes an automatic £5,000 or 10% increase in cover for several weeks either side of Christmas and family weddings.
There are also a number of optional extras available. These include extra accidental damage cover, personal possessions and family legal protection up to £100,000.
