Barclays also provides home insurance (also known as 'house insurance' or 'household insurance'). With Barclays Home Insurance you can currently get half price contents cover plus an additional 10% discount when buildings and contents are purchased together. Also, if you buy online there is an extra online discount which is also applicable on all optional extras including Legal Expenses and Home Emergency cover, which are available for an additional fee. Barclays Buildings Insurance offers cover up to £500,000 as standard, including alternative accommodation up to £100,000 for you and your pets and £2 million cover for legal liability as the building's owner. You also have the option to include full accidental damage to buildings and the option to potentially reduce your premium by selecting a higher excess.

Barclays Contents Insurance covers up to £50,000 cover as standard (up to £80,000 is available if required). We also cover your valuable items up to £10,000 in the home, new-for-old replacements on most items, £500 for replacement locks and even £400 for food in your freezer!'

There are extra cover options available for an additional fee, including, full accidental damage to contents, personal belongings away from the home and cover for pedal cycles.

We also offer optional cover to buildings and contents insurance for undamaged items that form part of a set, suite or pair, should one item be damaged and cannot be repaired or replaced with a match.

If you have earned a 5 year no claims discount, we offer cover to protect this for an additional fee, which will allow 2 claims within a 5 year period before your no claims discount is affected.
