Great News Today! Got a lettter from FSCS today to confirm that I will get allmy money back on the 3rd of September, plus interest of £16,975.00. Off to the pub then!!

My bond matures in September. I stand to gain about 16K on my 300K investment. The best place has got to be to purchase a holiday home. I have already borrowed 250k to get the ball rolling on a decent place which will see circa 8% return over a year. Fiddling about with BS is a wast of time IMOP. Simon

I know its early days, but has anybody who has opted to keep their bond had a confirmatory letter yet?.....I haven't!.

I have opened accounts with Alliance & Leicester, Bradford & Bingley, Birmingham Midshires, Coventry BS and Citibank so far!.

After a call to financial services (very helpful), I decided to let my bond run until Sept 09. The interest rate (7.1% gross), is still very competitive, and the money is 100% safe. Hopefully by next September the dust will have settled a bit and a new home(s), can then be found for the cash. Simon.

More good news.................... I have just checked my linked account.......payment had been made via financial services as promised. Just waiting for the paperwork on my 1 year bond now. Its great to have money back that at one point I never thought I would see again!. Simon
