• Can I insist on this? Long post, sorry!

Back in December I was in a minor car accident. Without going into boring lengthy details, it was caused by another driver performing an illegal maneouvre by overtaking a slow moving vehicle which was letting me out of a layby exit in order to go in. The car scraped the front of mine and sustained a small amount of damage to the back bumper. My ...

  • Re: Moving home with Talk Talk

Thanks to both of you; I've actually managed to get out of the TT problem by simply telling them I no longer wished to use their service. Because the broadband hadn't been connected, I wasn't tied in under LLU, so it was just a case of asking them to cancel the broadband order, and finding another supplier who would take over the phone ...

  • Re: Moving home with Talk Talk

I'm currently going through a TT home move and it's beginning to get me down. I've been with them for just over 18 months - just started the second contract last month in fact - and I called them a few weeks ago to inform them I was moving home, and wished to take my account with me. They said there was no problem; they would send a BT ...

  • Re: Bad hot water pressure

I seem to remember having a similar problem in my old house and it was resolved by 'bleeding' the radiators. Empty the valves slightly and let the excess water drip out - it may or may not help, but it's worth a shot!

  • Re: Unenforcable Credit Card reply help needed please

You can also add a printed box at the bottom of the letter for you to sign over, something like: [----------------------------------------] [-------------signature -------------] [----------------------------------------] That way, it'll be easy to tell if they have lifted your signature as the printed lines will be visible. Combine this ...

  • Re: Can I return shoes 6 months after I bought them?

I'll be a little gentler than Skywalker; but what he says is essentially the truth. I used to work for Clarks and their standard policy is that shoes are only guaranteed for up to 3 months unless otherwise stated. Basically, Clarks have no way of knowing if a customer is telling the truth about how often or how little they've worn their ...

  • Re: wentworth loans

DO NOT trust them or send them any money. Any 'loan' company which says you can have a loan while asking you for a broker or admin fee will, more often than not, do nothing for you. A reputable loan company will never ask for a fee upfront but will instead absorb their costs into the repayments. Send ing money to a loan company like this ...

  • Re: Pregnant and living in damp conditions

Thanks to everyone who's replied; I've actually been lucky enough to find a privately rented 2 bedroom house within my price range, so we'll be moving into it within a month and saying goodbye to W&W. I'll check out Surestart though, see if there's any useful advice on there.

  • Re: Advice needed

tt lady:I'd have thought your bf would be eligible for job seekers allowance at the least. From being in a similar situation myself I can pretty much assure you that he won't be eligible for JSA. For some reason, this government thinks that as long as one person works more than 16 or so hours a week, the partner doesn't need any ...

  • Re: old credit card debt

It seems like they know to hold off payment requests or adding further interest to the 'debt' at this time - that's what 'on hold' means I think. But as the account is in dispute I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to issue that default notice.
