• Re: Landsbanki Action Group

I'm very concerned to read the article in the Iceland Review about the financial state of Landsbanki (old) parent. The former director states that the assets of Landsbanki have halved in value since 30th September. Also, he says that there should be just enough from the sale of Landsbanki's assets to pay the 20k euro per customer in ...

I'm just wondering if the fact that Landsbanki G went into administration the day before Landsbanki parent is significant legally in terms of the parental guarantee, ie was the guarantee activated, and does this mean that as well as the 12mill we would also have claim for any other shortfalls from asset sales etc as Landsbanki was technically ...

I have had confirmation that my e-mails have been passed on to my local MP, Harriet Harman and have posted a letter on icelandreview.com under the headline of "Iceland, the Netherlands and UK reach agreement". I'm still concerned whether finding a buyer is the highest priority of the administrators.

Is anyone else in London or near London? I'm willing to co-ordinate an action group here. We ended up with LG as we wanted an account a relative who lives overseas and we saw Landsbanki recommended in the Guardian. I've yet to hear back from Harriet Harman MP. What strikes me as important at this moment that the administrators find a buyer ...

Avinash1972: I have just got off the phone with Urdur Gunnarsdottir who is the Iceland PM PA. I have been hassling her for days now and she confirmed to me today that she has brought our plight ie Landsbaki Guernsey depositors to the PM. He was not aware of us! and did not know that we fall between the cracks of the UK Govt. guarantee. I am ...

Hello everyone! I still have no reply from the legal team at UK FSCS in relation to the tax payments that UK residents have made to the treasury from their savings and whether this entitles them to compensation. Have any of you fellow bloggers who are resident in other EU countries contacted your local schemes (eg you live in Denmark and the tax ...

One of the administrators from Deloitte called me back today. They are still hoping to find a buyer for the bank. I brought up with him, that ourselves and other EU residents have been paying 20% tax on our interest on the accounts. No-one appears to have brought up this fact. The retention tax is split as follows: 25% goes to the Guernsey ...

The latest is that following pressure from Alistar Darling, depositors would have priority in payouts from Landsbanki over creditors. As it is thought there is sufficient funds to pay back all Icesave customers, there should be enough funds to pay funds back to the Landsbankii Guernsey depositors as this is a smaller concern than Icesave.
