• British Gas (Electric) energy usage/meter issues.

Think I have a problem with my meter. I switched from a key meter to a standard meter on the 22nd Feb 2008 and in that time up until 10.30pm today (23rd Oct) and according to the meter we have used 3702.3 units/kw/h in that time. The first and current bill total over £400 which even with price hikes seems excessive. I had my mate who is an ...

  • Best credit card for the odd internet buying?

Hi, what would be the best card for me to get that I would only be using for booking flights and the likes? I did a credit score check thing on this site and it came back as GOOD. I earn less then £10000 p/a so I know this can limit my choice. I also not bothered if the card offers rewards or anything and I will be paying the balance in full ...

  • Re: Overpriced GAP insurance.

Had a nice long chat with the money man at Smart and he explained to me that for £399 I am getting TOTAL cover of the car. It covers me for £10000 not £5000 like pretty much all the others. He explained that the most I would have to find would be £35 for a new road tax if ever I had to claim also, the company they use has a ...

  • Re: Overpriced GAP insurance.

OK, I spoke to Smart today and have confirmed that the GAP hasn't fully gone through yet and that the process will be stopped. I will get a call for the finance man tomorrow to redo all the paperwork, meaning I will be using my original £1000 deposit on the car only and that inturn will lower my monthly payment. Also I will still be able ...

  • Re: Overpriced GAP insurance.

I got 2 receipts for the two £500 deposits paid. Need to speak to the guy at Smart tomorrow to find out wtf is going on. As I have said previous, I haven't got any form of paperwork reguarding GAP so I'm not even 100% sure it's even been set up. Biggest problem is I don't want to cancel everything and end up loosing the ...

I looked through all the paperwork I have and I don't seem to have anything that suggests I have received the GAP cover. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm100/imac331731/finance.jpg That is the finance document and as you see in yellow is the £399 GAP which has been taken out of the £1000 deposit. That left me with £601 ...

Thanks for that. I've since found GAP for £88 for 3 years cover. Looks like I will be cancelling the cover and getting it online.

  • Re: 3's instore credit checking policy:Safe or Insecure?

I got turned down by 3 for a contract a while ago for some reason. I wanted a Nokia N95 8GB on a £35 p/m contract and this chap did the first part of the credit check and it came back in an instant as a credit risk. I asked if he was joking as I know I have a brillant credit record and have been told by several companies. Stormed off feeling ...

  • Overpriced GAP insurance.

I have pretty much finished all the paperwork for my new Smart ForTwo and decided I would take GAP out coz I would be stupid not to really... Anywho, Smart are charging me £399 for the privilage of 3 years cover. Since browsing the interweb I have found Vehicle Replacement GAP on a 3 year term, claim limit of £5000 for a total cost of ...
