  • Re: EDF online v5

I am not sure why there is so much paranoia surrounding this tariff. There was another rumour circulating that this was almost a tied contract - if you cancelled before 31 July 2010 then not only subsequent but all previous charges would be recalculated at a standard price. This is not true. There are no cancellation penalties. The surprising ...

  • Re: Complaining about a film

File-sharing concerns would pale to nothingness compared to what would happen if studios had to start giving money back for films they fraudulently label and advertise as ''comedy''.

they pay out the DD discount at the end of the year Not as far as I can read. All three discounts are calculated daily and credited to your account quarterly. So at most there may be a chance that the final £12.60 is not credited to a final bill but it is not an all-or-nothing affair (a la nPower) or a massive 13% to 20% of your final bill (a la ...

  • Re: Housemates Shared Gas/Electric Bill - Who is right?

She owes half the bills. No question. Whether you want to reduce her contribution is down to you. As you say you move into a shared house expecting bills to be shared. If I were you I wouldn't pay a penny more to the account. Her name's on the account. Give her the balance of your half and let her resolve it herself.

  • Re: Help required - EDF v. 5

EDF V 5 is available to electricity only households (but not on E7). It is only available in a small number of regions, though.

The tariff is still available. You can switch via TopCashback.com to receive £60 cashback in addition to the cheap tariff. The 'not available' button has very little to do with availability - it only means you can not switch using that particular site.

Shorter version :) (annual allowance divided by 365) to get a daily Tier 1 allowance multiply by the number of days your bill actually spans

  • Re: 1st/2nd rates utility bills computations!!!!

On an imperial gas meter 1 unit is about 32 kWhs On a metric gas meter 1 unit is about 11.2 kWhs On an electricity meter 1 unit is 1 kWh Convert your meter readings to kWhs as above (those are approximate numbers for gas - exact sum is on your bill.) For gas, your 2680 kWh is per annum. In a quarter, that will be 2680 / 4 or 670 kWh. So the ...

  • Re: Cancelled Direct Debit cost me £830!

Margaret-Rose:Very good, if useless advice. Not everyone can get an overdraft and if everyone could have this nice, cosy little buffer you speak of, these forums would be half the size they are. Your buffer and spend depends on your income. It is your responsibility to not behave like a three year old and not grab everything that is laid out in ...
