  • Re: sudden change of rate...

apologies, in the wrong category so to speak basically pipex charge 25.99 a month for their appalling service, however suddenly looking at this month's bill, it has gone up to 30.10. not quite sure what is going there...

  • sudden change of rate...

so, unfortunately stuck with this appalling ISP until november this year. 25.99 for shockingly poor service, and cretinous helpline. just noticed my bill has increased to 30.10 could anyone explain what this is all about, since their website states 24.99 a month. regardless of which month it is, surely... cheers in advance

  • Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION

that is outrageous in a similar issue i have with them, when i was told by the sales rep that i could expect speeds around 6.5Mb, i have been informed by some cretin on their customer support line that they do not have a recording of that conversation. funny that they do record the proof of them reading out the terms and conditions that tie you ...

  • Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION

in an email conversation with someone from 'customer service' they state that they 'feel' that a 2mb is adequate for the 'up to 8Mb service' in spite of the fact that i was told my line would enable me to receive speeds of 6.5Mb. needless to say, they are NOT even supplying 2Mb, but their 'systems' say that is what i am downloading at. i have ...

  • Re: cancelling pipex

cheers for the info - the firefox for linux file from that mirror was coming down at about 17-18kbp/s and spiked at 47 kbps - hardly 6-800! have changed router / all cables / all in BT mastersocket. the 200kbps is from pipex's very own speed test page - http://betatest.pipex.net/headers/stest1.htm - and that 200 was an absolute maximum - ...

  • Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION

that is incredible - i got EXACTLY the same reply from some cretin at their customer services - in reply to an email telling them that i wish to cancel and NOT pay any cancellation fee - due to their appalling speeds. something has to be done - watchdog, ofcom, small claims court - something can you imagine if this was marks and spencers or ...

''...unfortunately you have agreed to a 12month contract and you would have been advised of this when you signed up over the phone. Unfortunately we have no record of a call advising you wished to cancel the service with the 7 day period.'' so this is the response i get from some cretin at customer services, in reply to an email sent within the 7 ...

  • Re: cancelling pipex

indeed - of course, it took 7 days for the service to come live, and a further 10 days for the 'stablisation' period - and if you look at their terms & conditions you get 7 days to cancel from the TIME OF ORDERING, not from when the service is 'live' absolute nonsense - surely you need to know how good the service is before the option to cancel ...

  • Re: cancelling pipex

just read your predicament - i too am in a similar situation. however, spoke to someone on the phone on friday who said to run pipex's own speedtest (not the adslguide one) and then let them know the results after '24 hours' at the end of the day, paying for unlimited 8Mb and getting speeds as you say 4-5kbps. pointless attempting to run ...
