On the grounds that they took a reading late April which shows we are substantially underpaid . Is;nt the whole point of D.D that this should reverse out over the summer ? It is based on an actual reading which is correct . There is no point in fighting these big companies in my view so I will just have to bear it .

I have often noticed that the due date for payment falls on a Saturday or Sunday ; I have noticed this on Halifax One and Marks / Spencer amongst others . Pardon my cynicism but is this a ploy to get late payment charges , thinking folk wo;nt bother to check the day of the week it's due ??

Have just received my latest and it is very confusing , shows new transactions and payment received prominently , but amound due in full is a tiny figure hidden at bottom . Is this legal , I think they may be trying to confuse customers over amount due ?

When you pay by D/D , is your pt on ( say ) 1 October deemed to be for consumption in Sept or an advance pt for October ? Switched a few weeks ago , have had bill from Scottish Power till mid-August , new supplier has not asked for meter readings yet , will I have a final bill from SP and a D/D from new supplier in close succession ? Ask yourself why they are flogging this so hard , and does it infer they think prices will come down . Just my personal advice , stay clear . Remember you will not get any benefit of falling prices ( if they do ) Stanley
