I have a Prime prepaid card. It only has a 'pay as u go' option but thats fine for me as i only use it occasssionaly. Its fees are about the cheapest around and it is one of the cheapest to buy. When you buy the card however it is 'disposable' and u can't reuse it till you upgrade it through their website for £1.95. I ...

Cashplus offer a credit builder option as long as you sign up to 12 months of their pay monthly option which costs around £4.95.
You do not need to use the card or load more funds on, simply put £60 on it and it will automatically be debited. There is a thread on moneysavingexpert about it.

That is correct in regard to general purpose prepayment cards.
However in regard to foreign currency travel money cards this is not really the case. These cards are the new alternative to travellers cheques, foreign currency or being ripped of by your regular bank and, as such, are popular amonst all. If you look at cards like FairFX or CaxtonFX ...

I received an email today from Prime telling me you can now put more money on the card in the Post Office. Top ups over £100 are free and under £100 are 49p.
So it seems to be much better value now if you were still looking for a card.
Hope this helps.

Hi Iancewers,
I couldn't quite forget your plight for a non chip and pin prepaid card which is really good value.
I suggested to you before the Prime card which is non chip and pin, but you found it too expensive for the way you used the card.
Well you'll be glad to know I just got an email from them saying they now accept Post Office ...

As the title of this thread implies, you've never had one, have you? So let me answer your points:
"how easy is it to get the IDT Prime card: very easy just had over the cash and its yours" - Indeed this is true and its the biggest selling point, but what are you buying? - A one time disposable card with a maximum value of ...
