Get the car repaired on your own insurance, and let the insurers decide if it is worth pursuing the AA for.

Isn't there an obvious hole in the floorboards where the wire previously went? Below this you should find if not the wire, then the duct.

I guess that if the value of your house approaches the amount you have borrowed, you can't really blame the mortgage firm for denying you further credit. The way to avoid this happening is to try to reduce the amount you owe. If you started another mortgage elsewhere you would be adding penalties and arrangement fees to your debt.

Have you heard of a Lloyds TSB Helping hand mortgage?
They will give 95% to a first time buyer if a relative keeps 20% of the loan in Lloyds TSB for three years.

48817 units at even 10p a unit is £4,881.70.

Ask the company to put another meter in parallel with yours ...

I would write a polite letter to Kwik Fit head office, explain the story, and ask if you can return the parts. (This is what I did for the Saab exhaust, ...

Not the same problem, but similar. About twenty years ago I had the brake shoes in my Fiat 126 replaced in a fast fit place, and had hardly any brakes at all. After replacing them twice, they had to go and buy Fiat parts and put them on. This worked okay.
Also when I had a Saab, I had a Kwik Fit exhaust fitted. This made the engine backfire when ...

You have to wonder what sort of risks these mechanics take on the test drives, don't you?
Another thought that occurs to me, (and I am happy to be corrected if anyone else knows different) is regarding the cost of your hire car. I seem to recall reading somewhere that if the car is written off, you don't get any cash for the hire car.
