• Re: New Saver! Advice needed

I think Cash ISA would be your best bet to save up to £3600 in this financial year. Make sutre you check the current interest rates to get the best deal.

  • Re: ALLIANCE & LEICESTER ISAs- TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I opened a Direct ISA with A&L. There are delays in transferring from other providers but this is probably due to the volumes of applications they have received. I have to say that I can get through by telephone to speak to an advisor with no problems at all and they have always been helpful and courteous to me. You shouldn't contact your ...

  • Re: ISA Transfers

I opened a Direct ISA with A&L. You only have to open with a minimum of £1. Once your direct ISA is opened, then you will get a transfer form to complete for transferring previous subscriptions. Like the other poster said, you will still be able to pay in up to £3600 for this tax year as well as transferring previous subscriptions. ...

  • Re: Alliance and Leicester ISAs - problems opening account

Sorry to hear of your problems. I had no problems opening Direct ISA with A&L but this was probably because I bank with them anyway. However, there is considerable delay in transferring ISA from previous provider. Is anyone else finding this and am I correct to say that interest will be backdated. If so, does anyone know what date interest is ...

  • Re: 'Help' Alliance leicester complaints address

Hello Gem 28, Update on Alliance & Leicester. Still nothing received from customer services department despite further letters. Went into my local branch yesterday with all my documentation. Spoke to branch manager who advised did not have the discretion to make any decisions etc on the points raised but branch manager accepted very poor ...

  • Re: Alliance & Leicester or Abbey Mini Cash ISA

Just to let everyone know. I applied on-line for A&L direct ISA and had e-mail acknowledgement of acceptance next day. Forms arrived 2 days later for completion. Everything very smooth although I am an existing A&L customer.

  • Re: Alliance & Leicester or Abbey Mini Cash ISA

I'm also thinking of going with Alliance and Leicester ISA for tax year 2008/2009. Before I do, I would like confirmation that I won't be penalised for transferring to another provider from Alliance and Leicester in tax year 2009/2010. I know some companies have penalties for this or do not allow tranfers out. Could someone please clarify ...
