• Re: Best way of transferring money to Australia?

When transferring money between countries I have always used currency exchange companies and find them much more efficient, both in time and cost. Plus it is just so easy compared to using a bank. Look at the website for World First currency, they also have an Australian office in Sydney. You are allocated a personal advisor who will open an ...

  • Re: payday loans

Don't think it would be a good idea for you to take on any form of additional credit, including a credit card, even if you could get one. The priority is to lessen your debt and keep it to the one currently outstanding. Is there no way at all to finalise it by 15th August. Can you scrape just a bit more money together to get them off your ...

  • Re: payday loans

I think it looks like you will have to pay much more interest than you initially anticipated. If the end of August is the soonest you can make any payment, it may have amounted again to more than funds available..........and so it continues. That is how these dreadful companies keep fleecing their customers. Have you talked with the Citizens ...

  • Re: payday loans

I don't think your bank would be keen on giving you a loan if you are maxed out on your overdraft. However, nothing to lose by asking, as they can only refuse. Be prepared for such a refusal as we all know how things are currently with banks. Have you a Citizens Advice Bureau near to you? They are excellent in giving financial advice and ...

  • Re: PAYDAY UK

I would have thought this would not be allowed under the Data Protection Act 1998 (however, I am unsure of the rules and regulations on this). Perhaps you could look up the website for further information? Payday loans have appalling rates of interest, which can lead to even more debt being accrued. Have you thought of an overdraft facility with ...

  • Re: payday loans

I know it is now too late to advise never to touch payday loans with a bargepole!!! and please never consider them ever again. Really the best option would be to talk to your parents/family, although you say you can't regarding this. Depending on their circumstances, you may find family will be very approachable and willing to help out. Also ...

  • Re: Recieving money from the USA- what is the best way ?

Agree that is a good suggestion re an annual or bi-annual payment rather than monthly transfers. Also if using a currency exchange company covered by FSA then ensure your choose a company which keeps the client's money in a separate account and not in the business's own account. This will give better security. I've been using ...

  • Re: Recieving money from the USA- what is the best way ?

I think you could organise this monthly transfer via a currency exchange company. Personally I have found HiFx and World First to be excellent. Some companies charge a transfer fee of £15 per transaction though. However, it will still give you a better rate than a bank. You would be given a personal advisor who will answer any questions ...

  • Re: International Bank Transfer Exchange Rates

I've only made international transfers for personal accounts and not business. Some years ago I stopped using banks for exchanges as the rate given was always lower than anticipated. The rates do change continuously as you state, so basically need to accept the rate they offer but always subject to change (but never to the customer's ...

  • Re: Pension Subscription Rebate

Try looking at the Pension Tracing Service website; you will be able to find all the information you need. It will guide you through the steps you require to take in order to find your missing pension payments. It's an excellent site and hope it proves successful for you.
