• Re: Mastercard Prime: who's got it, any problems?

Unfortunately, it appears that www.gameplay.co.uk don't accept prepaid cards such as the Prime. If play.com don't either, then there's no point me getting one! Damn, I was looking forwards to being able to buy from play! I have got a friend who doesn't mind ordering stuff for me, but it would be nice to be able to do it myself. ...

mw:HI Dalek, I got one of the cards for the same reason and have had no problems. Remeber though that you'll need to upgrade the card for £1.95 after you buy it but the dormancy doesnt kick in till 3 months of no use and it's never happened with me. Also the transaction fee isnt always £1 can also be 50p. All in all does ...

  • Re: Pre paid credit cards - shambles!

Eco_warrior:Hi MrTWitch I havent personally, though its quite a straight-forward process, but i appreciate it could take some time depending on the circumstances. Very little risk involved really imo. As for the £40 on the card, id sooner loose the banks money than my own! What if someone got hold of your details somehow and ran up ...

  • Re: Pre paid credit cards - shambles!

Thanks for that MrTWitch! Exactly, if there is only £40 on the card, then that's all at risk, as opposed to however much is in your main bank account, which your credit card is linked to! That's why it's far safer to use something like Mastercard Prime, as long as you don't leave too much on there at any one time and I'm ...

  • Re: Are prepaid cards really that useful?

I can save a lot buying online, even taking into account the transaction and reload charges, that's why. Example: A game from GAME would release at £30, you could probably pick up the same game online (new) for around £20. £10 pound saving - £1 transaction fee equals £9 saving.

  • Re: Pre paid credit cards - shambles!

Hello? If someone gets hold of your main credit card details, then they have access to all your finances! If they get hold of your Prime details, all they can get is what's on the card and if you've any sense, you won't put too much on it at any one time. And if something does go wrong, all you need to do is get a new Prime card and ...

tobyjug472002:Re: Prepaid Credit Cards: I dont know if anyone else have had any dealings with Prime Card Mastercard, its a Mastercard, and it purchased for the measley price of £3.00, available from most retail outlets displaying the PayPoint Logo. I got one no problems at all, and if approved for just a further £2.95 you can upgrade ...

  • Re: Less Than Perfect.co.uk

Slightly confused, are you being negative about the 'Gold Mastercard' or the 'Mastercard Prime' prepaid card? I'm looking into getting a Prime card, mainly for online purchases costing not much more than £40.

  • Mastercard Prime: who's got it, any problems?

I have been looking into getting a Mastercard Prime, primarily so I can buy things online with peace of mind that, if anything goes wrong, I'd only be losing the money currently on the card. I'd be getting items costing not much more than £40 mostly and would therefore probably load only the money required onto the card and make my ...
