Ok have got quotes with just myself as named insured and lo and behold have received loads of competative quotes. Will now study and choose accordingly.

I will try putting myself as sole named insured.
I know it is felt that the unemployed make more claims but my son, who is an insurance fraud investigator tells me it those who are quite well off and employed who make the most and usually outrageous claims...the tales that boy could tell!

The nurse in me suggests you look at health provision.
I am not sure what the set up is in NZ but you may have to look at health insurance etc.

Some of us oldies are still around just not as much as before. People here have been making me "work" of all things so less time to hop on here. Downtime here at the moment so have been browsing most days.

Sparky - we know Portsmouth very well. Was home for more than 10 years so know the areas to avoid. He will be working on the outskirts of the city well away from the student type accomodation. He could live in those areas but much time would be added to his working day ...

Number One son has just got himself a new job in Portsmouth, not bad just one week after being made redundant. This means a move away from home and he is looking at the rental route. In the short term he can stay with family but really wants to be independant.
He has the deposit and enough money behind him for six months rent.

Re the above post. Sons aged 19 and 22 do not have credit cards nor are they interested in them but it has been suggested that they use pre-paid cards. Does anyone have advice on which is a good one for short time use only that can be used in Egypt.
