The basic bank account is changing, I believe, and pure cash cards are being replaced with debit cards. You should try Lloyds bank classic account. Costs nothing and you get a visa debit card. Obviously there are charges if a debit is refused or whatever, but you expect that anyway.
I posted earlier about Think banking, but since then I have had ...

It will be in their terms and conditions. Some banks, like Barclays, do not charge for a bounced standing order, but they do for a direct debit. Others will charge for either. So, if they pay it and you don't have enough money, they will charge, and if they refuse it and you don't have enough money they will still charge.

As a highly qualified FEMALE driving instructor with eighteen years experience of instructing and forty years experience of driving, I just have to add a few facts here!
Firstly, women tend to take fewer risks, which is why they do not make good racing drivers. There is also the problem that they can rarely reach the pedals on a racing car! And ...

I would have thought that if the bank are offering you a loan to cover the overdraft, then you would be well advised to accept. You will be paying a lot less interest and will see the amount going down, which you are not doing now.

What they do is divide the bills by four and take so much a week. The point is I expressly told them that I may not get much on certain weeks, there was more than enough in my salaries account and the £50 would be replaced the following week. I think food and petrol is of more importance than a direct debit. I will also point out that I was only borrowing the money until the following week, when it was replaced. ...

I think it sounds like a good idea to help out your daughter, and if you are never likely to fall out it could work. However, do be careful of other, third parties. I put my name to the mortgage on my daughter's house, so that it was in our joint names as they would not have lent her the money on just her salary. Then the boyfriend moved in. ...

I have only been with Think Banking since May and as I am self employed, and never know from one week to the next how much I will get, I was assured that if I needed my money back for essentials, like food, that would be fine as it was still my money. A few weeks ago, I found I had only £42 on the card account to buy food and petrol. Since I ...

Yes, you do owe this. It is not the fault of the finance company that the laptop was not covered by insurance. When you buy something on finance, the finance company pay the retailer the full amount, then you pay the finance company.
First Credit are not the most reasonable people to deal with. I would suggest that you either borrow the money to ...

The first time I drove one I changed gear and got seriously hooted from behind because I started to go backwards! As my old mum used to say "never do anything you can get a gadget to do for you".
