Hi Clare, At present Santander offer a distinct £50000 compensation under the FSCS scheme to an Alliance & Leicester account holder, as opposed to the £50000 compensation which has to be shared between an individual's other accounts with Santander trading names eg Abbey, Bradford & Bingley.
