• Re: House buying company want to buy my house and delay exchange of contracts.

Hi, Rep turned out to be the actual property investor who runs the 'business'. She was very informative actually and answered all the questions I had. However, I talked to my neighbour who works for the solicitor she says she uses. This much was true but the word is she hasn't completed a sale in 6 years so I think I'll be side ...

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping someone like yourself would respond (read your posts/replies on several topics). I totally agree with you, this will only benefit them in the long run, which I accept. However, I do get to move on and, in terms of them selling the house at a higher price in the future, I would have to 'suffer' that ...

  • House buying company want to buy my house and delay exchange of contracts.

Hi, I have been approached by a property investment company about buying my house. I have discussed the minimum price I will accept (pretty near market value) and they are still keen to make an offer. I have made it extremely plain that, being in a near negative equity situation, I have no room for movement on the asking price. They have given ...

  • Re: Urgent New Mortgage and 2nd Charge advice please

Thanks maxsteam, I think what I've failed to make clear is that part of this scheme is for me to pay Bovis back over the first 10yrs (first 5yrs interest free and then 2.5%APR for the remaining 5yrs) so I end up 'owning' 100%. Does that help to clarify/change anything?

  • Re: Urgent New Mortgage and 2nd Charge advice please

Jeez, I'm confused now. The Halifax mortgage advisor said that a deposit was no problem as Bovis (in this case) are effectively supplying a 25% deposit for the transaction. This leaves me borrowing 75% of the purchase price hence 75% LTV on the mortgage (subject to evaluation obviously). Sorry guys, appreciate the replies but I seem to be ...

Thanks Jackl, Very helpful indeed, I'll look into the aspects you've raised and doublecheck evrything as far as I can before pursuing. I think PPI is just over £7K on this(!!). Thanks again. Andy.

  • Re: Secured Loan PPI help please

Thanks for the reply. 1. Should I ask for transcripts of telephone conversations, etc? 2. I am awaiting their settlement figure (including charges) in writing at the moment. 3. Can't remember anything about a 'Demands and Needs' statement. 4. Is the disproportionate rebate of £500 on the PPI due to penalties then? I'm ...

  • Re: Urgent New Mortgage and 2nd Charge advice please

I see, thanks for that. Does this mean the most I'll get from the Halifax on this particular equity share scheme (75%/25%) is £145K? Assuming the house is valued at £227K. Thanks for the reply.

  • Secured Loan PPI help please

Hi, I have a secured loan with Nemo Personal Finance for £35K over 10yrs. The loan is 23mths old and I had asked for a settlement figure in Oct 2008 which they said was £42K(!). I asked for another settlement figure today as I am looking to sell my home and I need to know if I will have enough equity to pay my existing mortgage and ...
