    Would We or Wouldn't We?

    Hi All,

Hopeful first time buyers who are currently renting and are pretty much at the stage where we are fed up of renting and now currently exploring options on buying, however, its all very scary and confusing. I want to see a mortgage adviser but always put off as I think they would look at our income and say no as its low. Currently renting with my partner and getting married soon. Our joint income is £30k (mine being 17k hers being 13k we have a deposit of around 10k-20k both have good credit history and no missed payments. Do you reckon we stand any chance of getting onto the ladder at all or should we carry on renting

    Hi,

Do you have any outstanding loans or credit cards? as this makes a difference to how much you can borrow.

Lenders typically lend 3-4 times income but as i say it really depends on your circumstances.

I would say don't be put off by seeing a broker but make sure you book an appointment with a fees free broker & see what they say.

Hope this helps - good luck
