If EDF are showing the best, it may be worth noting that the site may have not been properly updated with price increases. EDF raised theirs last Friday so surely they shouldn't be showing as cheapest in any area at this moment in time. Same for BG apart from Click 5 cos that didn't get affected by the increase.

Re: WORST EVER ENERGY SUPPLIER IN THE UK????

    Eon!

hi everyone, i have been with Eon or powergen for the last 10 years. got a 'mistake' bill last year for £3,000 and another one recentley for £4,000, after sorting it out it turns out i now owe £12.60.

i think they set my amount too low as i was paying £9 every two weeks on a payment card, yet i was always in credit. anyway they said that my new amount on the payment card should go up to £19. but i argued that it was too big an increase from £9 to £19 considering i only owe them £12.60.

they've now said i have to pay what i owe and the next two payments should be £19 then after that £13 every two weeks which i can live with.

i suppose £13 every fortnight is reasonable but i am now looking to switch as i cant write on here how i feel about these lot and their very bad customer service.

i dont know much about all this would be grateful if someone could recommend another supplier?

i live in manchester, just me and my son, i recon i am a relatively low user!

Re: WORST EVER ENERGY SUPPLIER IN THE UK?

I have the right to complain when its justified and i dont think im im right on this issue i know it,if you bothered to read the account ive realised we should have checked the balance but as no one from e.on ever bothered to tell us to the up the direct debit each time we read the meter we didnt think anything was wrong.

as it WAS a proffesional company i didnt think for one minute it would employ incompatent staff who didnt check accounts every time we gave the reading,

FACT:we did everything we could be expected of us apart from reading the balance on the bill, but as ive already explained that i dont see how we can be held at fault,we are carefull on usuage so to be honest you can shove your serial complainer jab where the sun doesnt shine.

Agree in npower, would love to see what happens in the upcoming court case for mis selling.

Re: WORST EVER ENERGY SUPPLIER IN THE UK?

Red Army thinks that he is in the right because the company "admitted responsibility" and gave him compensation, agreed to spread the payment, etc.

They probably just wanted the "serial complainer" to get off of the phone, wasting more senior members of staff's time.

Energy suppliers do want to reassess their payment schemes every six months. Its in their interest to as they've already paid the wholesale price for the gas you're comsuming. If they don't do it then it is usually due to an estimated reading at the six month point. You say you were vigilent enough to replace estimated readings with actual meter readings, so I find it difficult to comprehend why you did not check the balances at the same time (your wife had electronic quarterly statements so therefore they do not require checking?!)... very odd.

I simply feel that there are far more valid complaints than a simple oversight (on your behalf) of the DD amounts.

SO back to topic, I'd have to say NPower, purely because of the treatment you get from the staff in their call centres. The energywatch table also has them bottom of the satisfaction league...

Give it time Rob, give it time.

To be honest the only way of knowing who is the worst are by Energywatch complaints cos everyone can throw in a horror story re their supplier. BG are by far the biggest supplier so you would think that they have the most complaints- though according to industry data supplied on here they don't, so I suppose you have to be careful with stats.

Re: WORST EVER ENERGY SUPPLIER IN THE UK?

I'll keep you posted on how I get on with my mum's account. I have to say that we are now on an n-power dual paperless, fixed rate deal. My other half makes billing updates to them and we have no problems at all.

I have no connection whatsoever with any energy company. I certainly never gave any impression that I did.

I think the fact i got over £100 compo and 1 month payment break as G-O-GW SERVES AS PROOF!!,cant remember ever mentioning that but i did.

You backfoot and skywalker are so full of crap and considering 2/3 of you work in the industry you are always going to stick up for the failings of those companys you work for and even the ones you dont.

What a result on top of all the other favours they did you.Incredible indeed.I will certainly try and go with Eon now. They seem fantastic.

I don't think you can accuse me of sticking up for the energy companies.......lol. Perhaps you could write to my employer regarding my crappy posts.c/o Mrs.Backfoot.

Re: WORST EVER ENERGY SUPPLIER IN THE UK?

Well I've had two pearls from British gas.

Firstly, I got a door to door bloke who said he could save me blah blah and I foolishly went for it. When filling out the form, there was a 'credit check' bit. I queried this and told him that we were about to get a mortgage - we were renting the house but wanted to buy it from the landlord. He told me he would put a note on the application so it wasn't done. Obviously it was done, so in a fit of rage I blasted them and cancelled the switch. That didn't happen and they started taking money from my bank. Even after I had switched to a different company, they still kept on taking direct debits. When I cancelled the DD, they sent me bill after bill. Call after call to them and the morons didn't realise they were stealing from me. Eventually I got a default on my file. But after threatening to call the police, it was removed and money returned to me.

!!-Good first post British Gas im led to believe actually has the highest amount of complaints ,given the fact they are the biggest supplier i think should mean they are professional, however your complaint is simliar to others ive read and saw on tv which serves as proof that half the country just stick with them regardless.!!

SEE MALBREGA,shouting in the wind as you say or complaining as REALITY SAYS does work!!

My old mum was with them. She has a business on the same site as her house so the DD's were quite high. SIX MONTHS after she had switched, she got a default on her Experian file to the tune of over £1000. She didn't receive a single bill to notify her of arrears. She was told that if the 'debt' was paid, the default would be removed. Though she disputed the amount, she reluctantly paid using her debit card. She was told it would take upto four days. That was January, and it's still there. I've now written to them on her behalf, and am willing to take the matter as far as it takes to make them keep to their word.

!!!-This ones is even worse than mis selling, this type of complaint is what i come across in my job as a collector for barclays when customers incur debt they shouldnt have had and hobby outside of work when i take on complaints by acting as customers third party.!!!-

Its downright illegal that they can mess with peoples lifes like this,KEEP US UPDATED ON THIS ONE!!

Stay well clear of them. IM trying to get rid of them on pre pay but its proving a drag as its not my my account so will have to badger the wife to sort it and give me auth to deal.

Re: WORST EVER ENERGY SUPPLIER IN THE UK?

RED ARMY it seems with every post the division of responsibility changes. First you were completely blamesless and then you were 20% responsible and in your last outing 30% responsible? I'm sorry but when you facts keep changing you your lose credibility rather quickly. -

Ive just stated i cant remember the exact figure its around 70-80% the fault of e.on IN THEIR OWN WORDS!!

I would continue to offer advice, suggestions and insight but it has become clear that you seek none of these but rather a podium upon which to stand and complain about how your supplier is treating you so badly despite numerous opportunities provided by them to alter the situation, and advice from people in the know. LIKE WHO EXACTLEY YOU LMAO LMAO LMAO!!

I wish you good luck in your endeavour - but i don't think screaming in the wind ever solved anything. Feel free to prove me wrong however.

I think the fact i got over £100 compo and 1 month payment break as G-O-GW SERVES AS PROOF!!,cant remember ever mentioning that but i did.
