Im thinking of changing bank accounts shortly.I am looking to get a mortgage in a years time will this affect my chances in any way as i would be starting off from scratch with a new bank? thanks.

If you change your bank/building society once in a while it should have no effect. If you do it every year of if you don't handle the account well, it will have an effect.
