    Re: Who's best?

    Hi Max

Ok basically where you live means you can't get and LLU or cable (you probably already know this).

If you want my personal opinion as a fellow ex-booter I would avoid the well known brands and go for a lesser ISP who will focus more on customer service.

The three I recccommend you consider are:

Direct Save Telecom Option 4: 8Mb/unlimited broadband and free UK landline calls for £16.95 a mth (£10.45 a mth line rental) and no minimum contract

Madasafish Max Talk: 8Mb/5Gb broadband product which also comes with free UK landline calls for £19.99 a mth (£9.99 a mth line rental) we have an exclusive deal which if you apply for this over our phone service you get a free wireless router

Eclipse Evolution Option 1: 8Mb/unlimited broadband for £14.99 a mth - if you pay extra £5 a mth you get free UK landline calls as well, if you're switching you get a free wireless router and the first month free.

Eclipse is probably my 1st choice followed by DST and then Madasafish.

There you go mate, some good deals for you eh?

    Cheers

    Jason

    Ah yes CTTB!

I'm sure Robert Warzycha can give you a bit of free advice.

Ok first of all what's your postcode Max? I know you're living in Northern Iron but where specifically?

Once I know your location I can advise you of the best deals.

    Ta

    Thanks for your reply.

I'll have a look at vodaphone again.

    Re: Who's best?

None of the packages you have listed are truely unlimited. they all have a Fair Use Policy that limits your use.

Have you considered Vodafone?. I've not heard anything bad about them yet (they have a fair use policy as well)

    http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/vodafone/wrp?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=template11&pageID=VA_0012

I have used Virgin and Tiscalli and would not recomend either of them.

Tiscalli are terrible, I'm sure you have seen the theards on this forum.

Virgin couldn't get me connected, they spent two months blaming BT. I got sick of their excuses and decided to cancel. They said I would have to pay £50 disconnection fee (when they were advertising a no minimum contract deal). I spent an hour on the phone to customer services. For some reason they could not understand that I was never connected and therefore a disconnection fee could not be charged.

I joined AOL next and was connected within a week (but i wouldn't reccomend AOL at the moment either)

    Who's best?

Pipex have been attempting to connect me to 8Mb since 13/12/2006, as of this morning they still haven't managed it. (I've had numerous billing queries, which though sheer bloody mindedness I've finally got sorted + I managed to nip another one in the bud this morning!)

I had a rummage around the net last night and have found the following offers. (I want 8Mb +uncapped+free UK anytime calls)

Virgin £19.99 + line rental (not cable)
Talk Talk £18.99 + line rental (inc international calls)
Orange £19.99 + line rental (inc international calls)
Tiscali £17.99 + line rental (offer ends 31/3/2007)

Not in a Sky area so only Sky connect available.

Of the 4 I've read horror stories about all of them except Virgin.

Who is the best of a bad bunch?

Is there anyone else I should look at?

    eg. Everton Broadband? ;-)
