Just to add to that I'm pretty sure I remember one case of HMRC contacting someone's bank who had two and the second had to be closed and I think the bank fired the customer so to speak.

You have to provide your national insurance number to get the interest tax free right?

    Who would know?

    Hi

This may seem a slightly crazy question but one I have pondered for some time.

As there is for example, a limit per year on ISA accounts, for example a cash ISA is £3600. If you or I take one out with one bank for £3600, who knows if you or I take the same amount out with another bank?

    Regards,

    Jeff
