Which Phone, TV, Broadband Package?
Hi, We have Sky TV and BT Home phone and Broadband and want to get rid of both as they are completely over priced. Please can you give me some advice about which TV, Broadband and home phone line package would be the most cost effective for our family? Thanks

Re: Which Phone, TV, Broadband Package?
Hello Nancy T Have a look at Virgin. We've got broadband and free phone calls evenings and weekends (and mobile) at £9.99 per month. Not bad. Mike

Thanks Careful.. read a piece today that highlighting something to me, paying less isn't always a good idea. http://www.ispreview.co.uk/articles/cong Virgin can be ok so so long as they cover your area, but don't Sky also offer a bunbled TV/Broadband package for less?

Re: Which Phone, TV, Broadband Package?
Hi Nancy T
More than happy to help you out here.
At the moment there's only really three credible options for a broadband / phone / TV deal.
Option 1: Sky - Amazing value fantastic for TV, broadband is patchy, phone service seems good, has a bad reputation for customer service at the moment.
Option 2: Virgin Media - Best deals only available in 50% of the UK, you build your own package to suit you, no line rental fees, good broadband, not as good TV as Sky, we've heard rumours that customer service has got worse recently
Option 3: Build Your Own triple play package - sounds mad but it is possible to bring together a broadband deal with a phone deal and also get in a Freeview box with an inbuilt PVR.
A lot depends on where you live - if you tell me your postcode I could tell you the best deal for you in your location.
HTH?
Cheers
Jason

Re: Which Phone, TV, Broadband Package?
You might also want to check out Orange in terms of free broadband (2meg) for any subscriber on a £30 a month or above tariff. You also get unlimited texts at the moment and upto 1000 mins per month - it may prove cheaper then getting broadband and a home phone!! Rob

Re: Which Phone, TV, Broadband Package?
Thanks Rob
Yes Orange Free Broadband on paper is a good deal but what about the TV element of the deal?
Orange aren't due to launch their TV bundles until later this year but certaintly they're worth considering
Cheers
Jason

Re: Which Phone, TV, Broadband Package?
To be honest of you want Sky Sports then going with Sky Speak See Surf would probably be the most cost effective option - £16 per month includes 2 mb, FREE WIRELESS ROUTER, unlimited evening and weekend calls and 4 entertainment mix TV channels. £15 online credit is also available at present which would reduce your installation costs to £15. You can then add Sky Sports to the package selection for £18 per month - total per month is £36. Plus BT line rental of £11 - so £47 per month for whole package inc line rental Virgin is similar product - 3 for £30, 2mb speed, free weekend calls, LINE RENTAL INCLUDED. Sports is £26 per month on top so you would pay £56 per month. NO FREE ROUTER Sky would be the most cost effective and the speed of their 2mb package came out on top of Virgins in our latest speedtest results across a sample of 20,000 customers. Youa lso get a free wireless router with SKY and the benefit of evening/weekend calls being free whereas Virgin includes only free weekened calls Its ultimately down to whether you want a dish on the side of the house or not!
