Well that was my initial thoughts Marc didn't dare suggest it though, I have a mortgage by myself and have no life cover as noone would be out of pocket if I died. Unless he has a partner who would want to stay in the house!!!

Er, radical question here - but if you have no dependants, why on earth do you need Life Asurance? Is it just to save the mortgage company the hassle of having to sell your home when you're dead?

Thanks Mr XXX if you had read the post properly you will see that the decreasing term policy lasts for 30 yaers however he would only pay for the 22 yaers as the cover reduces but the payments do not. I would appreciate your views Mr XXX, maybe an apology for suggesting that I do not know what I am talking about

    Lisa,

Your post shows exactly why people should use a fully qualified IFA when needing advice on life insurance and other financial services for that matter. The original poster wants decreasing term assurance over 30 years as he has a 30 year mortgage yet you have quoted him over 22 years. Some used that policy would be in years 22-30 of his mortgage!!.

I dissagree. I sell life insurance on an execution only basis (no advice) and seen as he knows what he wants would he not be better placed not paying for such advice. I am unsure how you managed to get such high quotes for the cover before the loading for the motor sport as I have just ran a quick quote and the premium is £11.73, and this is for level term cover so Decreasing term would be £10.41 payable over 22 years as oppose to the 30 years in which the cover would run.

Try entering term assurance into google, its very cheap as you are so young.

    I'd echo Darrmont's advice.

Is there industry press that may have adverts, or a union that may have a special arrangements?

    best wishes

I am an IFA and in my experience you will be able to get life assurance with little rating unless you are very heavily into it. You should contact an IFA in the first instance in particular one with good experience in protection business.
