where to go for an IVA

Hi its nice to be on here not asking for mortgage advice finally! However, I do need to call on you kind people for some advice for my sister. Basically she is in a pickle with credit cards etc and owes money to the tune of about 18,000. SDhe has recently tried going to leeds city credit union but even they couldnt help her so really I wonder if an IVA is the only sensible way forward. I don't want her going to the usual dodgy suspects like welcome/black horse and she is not a home owner so no help there. Who are the good IVA companies or is there not such a thing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (the background is she had a very well paid job which she unexpectedly lost and is now on half the money and a pillock of a boyfriend who helped her spend money and has now finished things)

    Hi

If your sister does consider an IVA she needs to be really cautious, read my posting about my experience of an IVA called (Failed IVA - Need Help & Advice). I really fell into the trap and was completely fiddled out of hundreds of pounds before the company got an independant firm to do the 6 monthly re-assessment then told me I couldn't afford to continue and therefore go bankrupt. Not seen the hundreds of pounds I put into the IVA since.
