Yes he can drive on that. A south african driving license is just as valid as a UK driving license. his insurers would have checked the DVLA database to make sure he wasn't banned. You say that the police have been informed, they also would have checked that he was or wasn't banned. If he was it's an immediately arrestable offense, so i would doubt that he actually is banned.
This is ridiculous reply.Why would I ask for information about a ban being overturned if I didnt know he had been banned??
He was banned I was there when they banned him in court!!!! Ive rung the DVLA and he cant drive on a SA driving licence if he is banned in Britain.
Im a bit confused about the him still being on the insurance register.Unless he has given them his SA driving licence details.
The police said they cannot arrest him unless they catch him driving whilst banned. So basically they will have to put him under surveillance.Due to lack of resources,time etc I doubt they will do that. So its only an immediately arrestable offence if they catch him actually driving.
