Re: When to stop ask for credit cards?

Unless you've been here for a few years you may struggle regardless of how well paid your job is. General advice is to try once and then if you get rejected then wait 6 months before trying again. However, if your length of residence causes a problem then you'll have to wait until you've been here long enough. All searches will appear on your credit report so it will look bad if you have more than one or two searches in a short space of time.

Your bank will have the best information about how you manage your credit so you should go and see them first. They may not have the best 0% deal but so long as you pay the balance off in full each month (and this is the right way to use credit cards) it doesn't matter what interest rate they charge as you'll never pay it.
