When to repay a student loan?

Can anyone please advise as to when is the best time to repay a student loan. My understanding is the interest is calculated annually and so paying anytime is not the most cost effective way of doing it.

A student loan, is still a loan - you should start paying it back when you gain employment. Please also understand that once you start working, you will accrue a credit score which can give you access to credit crads etc. Be careful; practice responsibility and remember that everything you borrow, has to be paid back eventually.

OK, thanks Skywalker. I knew that but maybe I did not make myself clear enough.

I am currently paying via my PAYE but I want to pay the whole amount off early. When is the optimum time to do this?

    Thanks

The time to repay a loan is when you can afford it, and you don't want to waste money on paying interest anymore. Once you have paid off the debt, you should start saving for a deposit for a property to secure your future. Don't bother with a pension plan, there are too many middle men. Instead look to build a property portfolio - that's what I did, and I retired when I was 41.
