    Welcome To The PlusNet Forum

This is just a quick hello from me to say welcome to the PlusNet forum.

Me or one of the other PlusNet Comms team will regularly have a look at this forum to try and help you guys out with any problems or questions that you have regarding to PlusNet or broadband in general.

Hopefully we can answer all your questions and help you out when you need it.

    Kind regards, Chris Cotterill

No offence but I assume as your post hasn't been deleted you are genuine. I was with Metronet until around September of last year when I switched to talktalk because it was so cheap. I found Metronet customer service very good and staffed by informed 'real' people and I said in person that I was sad to be going and in e mail format I think. No idea what you are like now but I just wanted to say that.

    Hi there,

Yes Chris is genuine, (well I hope so, he sits opposite me!).

Welcome to the forums and thanks for the kind words, we have continued to make strides forward in customer support and hopefully can tempt you back in the future ;)

Actually on that 'no offence...' point why can't you on this occasion and MS (I assume you have their official backing) have a unique symbol that shows immediately you are what you say you are and have official recognition? Just occured to me while typing that there is an increasing amount of spam on the site.

Re: Welcome To The PlusNet Forum

Hello ty4that, and thank you for your comments.

We at moneysupermarket welcome the input we are seeing from various providers, and will be working on ways in which to make these contributions stand out. At the moment, you can rest assured that genuine providers will be easy to recognise simply from their demeanour and the emplacement of their posts in specific folders like this one. I appreciate that we could do more to raise their profile, and, indeed, this is contemplated along with a whole host of other developments and enhancements.

In the meantime, if you are concerned about a post, please do not hesitate to refer it to me directly at Community @ moneysupermarket.com, and I will be pleased to advise you appropriately.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for your many helpful posts? Your contribution is valued and appreciated.

    Kind Regards

No, thank you... demeanour is what did it for me. Assume you have sense of humour and are Simpsons fan. When I saw 'emplacement' I was impressed and immediately thought of 'enbiggen' (not sure that's correct spelling).

Valued and appreciated... pleased! There's a first time for everything!!!

Re: Welcome To The PlusNet Forum

I guess I should join in too!

My name is Liam and I work alongside both the Chris's and the rest of the team here at PlusNet Towers (funny I say that, though, as I'm writing this from home!

As a fairly 'interacting' company, we do like to get involved with the community and that plays a major part of how we evolve our products and services as a business.  If you do have any ideas, suggestions, or questions, do let us know - and we'll do our best to provide a decent answer!

I do indeed like The Simpsons, though I can't say I'm an addict or anything like that.  A sense of humour?  Well, my colleagues will probably disagree - but personally - I think I can do that! :-D

I have just had an idea that is er... so brilliant that I think I'm going to have to lie down in a darkened room... Oh sorry idea first.

You being the company know the top 5/10 faqs on a rolling average basis. Why don't you publish them here and modify your  'Welcome' header accordingly sort of Forum... including the top five faqs?

You never know it might enbiggen your profile :-)

That is a good idea and I'll look if we can get something like that organised in the near future.

While you're looking if you happen to bump into someone who could contribute to the STAFF/X STAFF OF CHATTERBOX... posting, maybe you could mention the posting... just in passing...

Re: Welcome To The PlusNet Forum

I am about to sign up with you guys and have read various reviews from different forums. Can you confirm that if I stay with you for one year I donot pay for the broadband hardware. If I do leave I pay the £47 odd price. (I dont intend to) and £20 leave fee? For the home phone system I sign up for 12 months, what is the cancellation charge after this, or notice period.

    Thank you

    Intumescent man

Re: Welcome To The PlusNet Forum

If you were to leave within 12 months then you would pay £40 for line activation (this was recently reduced in line with BT charges) and a £20 home phone cancellation fee (assuming you take the home phone service also).

After the 12 months is up, we'll write off the £40 line activation fee, but the £20 home phone service will still apply as a cancellation charge.  This is a straight cancellation charge levied if you decide to move your home phone service away, or if you leave PlusNet altogether, and is not based on how long you have been with us.

Hope that helps, if you have any further queries, do let me know.

    Cheers,
    Liam

Re: Welcome To The PlusNet Forum

    Hi

I now have my mac code and am looking to change my ISP.Would plusnet do an LLU on my 'phone line.Orange did and all i got was 2months without any service.

As  a result of this & reading the posts on here i'm reluctant to join an ISP who mess with the line.

Re: Welcome To The PlusNet Forum

Some time ago, we did move some customers onto an LLU network supplied by Tiscali Wholesale (NOTE, not the Tiscali retail broadband arm!).  We are aware that Orange have seen some issues with their own implementation of LLU.

Though we do still have customers on our LLU platform, we stopped moving customers over a long time ago.  Even when we were migrating some of our customers across we gave them the chance to opt-out should they wish, as a direct result of feedback from customers and our UserGroup.

We have no plans to move anybody else onto LLU and if you migrate you will be provided on a standard BT Wholesale IPStream Max product.

I hope you'll give us the opportunity to welcome you to PlusNet sometime soon :-)
